As COVID-19 continues to strain our communities, your physical and mental health remains our top priority.

Montana/Mountain Health CO-OP is committed to supporting our members and the community through the COVID-19 outbreak. We believe there is an urgency to expand the use of technology by using telehealth services through your provider as well as Doctor on Demand. By utilizing these services, you can reduce your exposure to COVID-19 while maintaining access to necessary care right from your home! In addition to keeping you safe, this will reduce the added strain to Hospitals, Urgent Care Centers and Provider Clinics, allowing them to keep capacity open for patients who need critical care.

We have you covered, here’s how:

  • Covering COVID testing and diagnostics at 100%

  • Covering treatment of COVID at 100% for Covered Benefits under your plan

  • Covering 100% of telehealth services (to in-network providers) that are performed via telehealth while you remain safe in your home, including Doctor on Demand

    • These services do not have to be COVID related

  • Extending telehealth coverage according to Medicare guidelines

  • Allowing early prescription refills of medications to ensure you have needed medications on hand. For certain medications, a 90-day supply is available

Pharmacy:

MHC is allowing our members to get early refills of prescription medication in order to ensure they have
needed medications on hand. For certain medications that treat chronic health conditions, members
can get up to a 90-day supplies of their medications at their local retail pharmacy location or through
our dedicated mail order pharmacy.

Here are some tips to consider when you are considering how much of your prescription medication you
should have and how best to obtain them during the COVID-19 outbreak.

  • The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) advises that during pandemics, like the current COVID-19

situation, that you should consider having an adequate supply of medication to weather a
quarantine period should you be exposed or in situations where you may be a caregiver or
actually test positive for the virus and need to remain isolated. It is very important you
understand that this isn’t out of fear that the drug companies will run out of your drugs, just so
that you don’t run out during these potential situations. The CDC generally refers to having at
least a two-week supply of prescription and over-the-counter medications on hand during these
times. You should take into consideration medications that are taken once per week or once per
month in your preparations.

  • If you need a refill of your essential medication, you should go straight to your pharmacy (local

retail store or mail order pharmacy) and request a refill or extra supply and not go directly to
your doctor to do so. Pharmacies will be authorized to help you get an early refill, get a larger
supply of your chronic medication, or contact your doctor if you don’t have any refills left on
your prescription. This will save you time and decrease the burden on our doctors during this
time.

  • How can you obtain an early refill or get a 90-day supply of your prescription medication?

    • Your pharmacist will know how to get an early refill of your medication – just ask them.

    • Ask your local retail pharmacy if you can get a 90-day supply of your medication.

    • If you choose to do so, you can get a 90-day supply of your chronic medications

delivered to you directly from NoviXus Pharmacy Services, our dedicated mail order
pharmacy. Go to Novixus.com to set up your fill or call them directly at 1-877-668-4987.

  • Remember over-the-counter or OTC drugs.

    • Have supplies of Tylenol or other flu symptom control medications on hand.

  • If you are homebound or just find it difficult to get to your pharmacy because you are a

caregiver, have been quarantined, or are self-isolating because you acquired the virus you can
do these things to have them delivered to you.

  • Reach out to your pharmacy and ask them if delivery is available. Many pharmacies,

independents and chains, are providing free home delivery during this difficult time.

  • MHC offers direct to your home prescription mail services through our dedicated mail

service pharmacy – NoviXus Pharmacy Services.
